1. What the permission does
Admit It uses Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls frameworks so the app can shield selected apps, categories, and websites during active schedules or rule windows. Without this permission, the app cannot protect anything.
2. How the current build is set up
The current app experience is designed for the person using the device to enable protection on that same device. It does not require account creation, remote device management, or a developer-run family backend.
In practical terms, this is a self-managed focus app first, even though it uses Apple’s Family Controls technology under the hood.
3. Household and guardian use
If a parent or guardian chooses to set up Admit It on behalf of a minor or dependent, the parent or guardian should review the requested permissions and the optional challenge settings before enabling them.
Camera, microphone, and speech recognition are optional and only used if the selfie-video challenge is enabled.
4. Kids Category and parental gate expectations
Admit It is a general-audience productivity app, not a kids entertainment app. A parental gate becomes relevant if the app is submitted in Apple’s Kids Category or marketed primarily to children.
If that changes in a future launch, links out of the app, purchase flows, and other external actions should be reviewed against Apple’s Kids Category rules before release.
5. Family Controls is not the same as Family Sharing
Family Controls refers to Apple’s Screen Time permission model used to protect apps and websites. Family Sharing is a separate App Store purchase-sharing feature for subscriptions and purchases.
The current build of Admit It does not ship a live StoreKit subscription flow, so there is no Family Sharing configuration to enable yet.
